Irish Gin and Vodka

The Craft

traditional family recipes and a process That has been handed down through the generations.

...From the soil...

Both Muff Gin and Muff Vodka are premium potato based spirits, both using the same potato base before being distilled.  The neutral potato base is then added to a Pot Still.

...The pot still...

A Pot Still is a type of kettle which allows the base mixture to be heated and cooled in order to be purified through the process of distillation.

...The flavour...

Once cooled to room temperature, we add in our aromatic blend of botanicals to the potato base. These botanicals are steeped overnight in a cold infusion. The main botanicals we use are mandarin, elderflower, grapefruit peel, juniper, and rosemary.

...The distillation...

The following day, the pot still is heated and the distillation process begins again. The both our vodka and gin is distilled a total of 6 times. Prior to bottling, a Champagne extract is added to the gin at the end of the process.

Muff Gin & Vodka are gluten free and vegan-friendly.

...The botanicals...

While authentically potato based in nature, the Muff Liquor range also contains a carefully selected blend of natural botanicals that gives our spirits a flavour that has seen us recognised globally for the quality of the product we have to offer.

Rosemary

Rosemary has a slightly minty, sage-like, peppery, balsamic taste with a bitter, woody aftertaste.

Juniper

The flavour profile of young, green berries is dominated by pinene; as they mature this piney, resinous backdrop is joined by "green-fresh" and citrus notes.

Grapefruit Peel

The family of flavours range from highly acidic and somewhat sour, to sweet and tart.

Elderflower

Small, white elderflowers grow on elderberry bushes, which are found throughout the Ireland, and bloom from late May to early June.

Mandarin

The taste is considered less sour, as well as sweeter and stronger than regular oranges.
